Yes! All of our tours are for you and your group or family.
Do you offer adventures for families?
Yes! Our guides have shared Yellowstone with all ages from toddlers to grandparents. We can customize the day to match your goals and create a fabulous Yellowstone experience.
How much time will we spend in the car?
Our goal is to get out of the car as much as possible and experience some of the lesser traveled areas of the Park. Rather than trying to see all of Yellowstone in 1 day, we recommend one of our 2 or 3 day packages, which allows for more time to see the details and get out of the car every hour and less time in the car.
What will we do on a Geysers & River Walks Adventure tour?
This tour is a full day tour lasting from 7-9 hours. We will pick you up at your home or hotel and drive into the West Yellowstone entrance. Your guide will introduce you to the amazing geology, along with seeing geysers, including Old Faithful. Picnic along a river bank and get your feet wet and hands dirty (optional of course).
The heart of Yellowstone has several thermal basins we love to walk on this tour, and typically walk 2-4 miles on boardwalks and well maintained trails. We can also do this tour with minimal walking, if that is appropriate for you.
How far will we walk on a Waterfall and Wildlife Adventure?
The focus of this tour is to see vistas artist Thomas Moran made famous, along with waterfalls in a spectacular canyon. Of course, visiting areas that are teem with wildlife is also a priority! You decide how much you would like to walk. Some of the favorite walks along the canyon rim can be as little as a 1/4 mile or as much as 6 miles for adrenaline junkies. A typical day is 1-3 miles of walking.
Will we see bears or wolves?
With Yellowstone's robust bear and wolf population, we will definitely be in grizzly bear, black bear, and wolf habitats. We will discuss how to spot these icons, along with other big game animals such as bison and elk, who call Yellowstone home. Your guide will have a spotting scope and binoculars for you to get your "eagle eye" on also.
Can I see the whole park in one day?
Yellowstone National Park is 2.2 million acres with only a few roads. We recommend not expecting to drive all the roads in one day. Our guides want to explore hidden gems with you. See beautiful vistas, listen to steaming and bubbling thermal basins, walk on trails shared with bison herds, feel cold water river water on your toes. Make a lifetime of memories. Big Sky Adventures & Tours offers 2 and 3 day packages for Yellowstone tours that will have you deep into the Park.
What should I bring on my tours?
We recommend wearing sturdy walking shoes, dressing in layers with a jacket for possible windy or rainy days. Bring your camera, sense of adventure, and a refillable water bottle. Your guide will provide binoculars, spotting scope, hiking poles, water, lunches on full day tours.
I have special dietary needs, do you accommodate that?
Of course! Please let us know when you book your tour and order your lunch.
What if I have never hiked? Or cross country skied? Or been on snowshoes?
No Problem! Our certified guides are knowledgeable and patient and want you to enjoy places we love. Your guide will get you started with appropriate terrain, pacing, and instruction to enjoy the trail. Have fun identifying wildflowers, looking for animal tracks, dissecting scat, listening to bird calls, or just enjoying the fresh, crisp air.
Can I change the start time of my tour?
Your tour is for you and your family. Our start times are recommended times. Just let us know when you book your tour what time works best for you.
Do you offer tours for groups?
Yes, we can accommodate any size group. For groups larger than 12, please contact us for pricing details.
How much should I tip my guide?
It is customary to tip your guide 10 - 20%
